Tan Vooi Yam comes from the 3rd generation of a pottery family in Ipoh, Malaysia. By nature, he grew up surrounded by kilns, pottery, and ceramics. After he completed his studies, he entered his family business.
Later he realized his passion for ceramic was not limited solely to pots. Then, he further expanded his vision and enrolled in the Kuala Lumpur College of Arts in 1898 and graduated in 1992 with a diploma majoring in painting and minoring in ceramic design.
In 2010 he established his private studio TJF Clay Studio where he also conducts classes in ceramic art. In 2014, he conducted the building of the first mini wood fire kiln - IpohGama in Ipoh. Vooi Yam definetely is one of Malaysia's most accomplished artists with expertise in producing ceramic installations.
IT'S ALL ABOUT PASSION
TJF Clay Studio (陶捷坊陶艺工作室) is a pottery studio established in 2010, which is based in Ipoh, Malaysia. We aim to provide a place for people to learn, treasure, and produce pottery.
Artworks and ceramic collections selling in this shop came from Malaysia's ceramic artist and the founder of TJF Clay Studio, Mr. Tan Vooi Yam.
