COILING - ADVANCED

Tutor: Mr Tim, experienced in pottery industy for 25 years
 
The class will run over 4 sessions, and you are required to have experience in the beginner and intermediate class in order to participate.
 
The advanced classes will be focusing on being able to achieve consistent results, as well as the importance of design and function for successful pots. In this lesson we will not provide you a blueprint for the sculpture but we will let you learn how to capture your design ideas on paper and then execute them on the wheel, while refining your approach, building skills, and challenging yourself to throw bigger and taller pots! Meanwhile our instructors will provide advice and comments to you for your future improvement.

Day one, Introduction to class and introduction to the basic techniques
Day two, Centering and coiling a basic cylinder and learning how to trim.
Day Three, Coiling and trimming, focus on techniques and shapes
Day four, Coiling (your own designs) and trimming
